600 years ago, J9 roared through the Solar System to fight evil and get rich. Now things are worse than ever, as lawlessness threatens to overcome the fragile ruling government and an alien fleet from outer space arrives to upset the balance even more. Amid the chaos, old friends Digo and Schutecken found the Cosmo Rangers, an updated J9, to combat crime in the asteroid belt and beyond. But even with talented members like Billy the Shot, Jumping Sama, and Lila the Immortal Butterfly, they quickly get in over their heads as their group expands to the size of an army and they become the guardians of a crumbling government.
